Andrew J. Matthews, M.D. is board certified in plastic and reconstructive surgery and is licensed by the California Medical Board. His educational path is a long one, both geographically and chronologically.
Dr. Matthews is a local product of the bay area who graduated from Los Gatos High School. He then obtained an AB degree in Biochemistry from Occidental College in Los Angeles. Dr. Matthews then attended UCSF at San Francisco School of Medicine.
Dr. Matthews then completed an 8 year residency at the University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinic. During his residency he also studied preventative nutrition in a PhD Nutritional program.
To complete his surgical training he moved to New York City where he completed a second residency as well as a one year aesthetic surgery fellowship. He worked alongside some of the best plastic surgeons in the world at the renowned Manhattan Eye, Ear and Throat Hospital. After 19 years of education/training, Dr. Matthews returned to the bay area and started his practice in 2001.
